BALANCING PEACE NEGOTIATIONS

America’s alliance with Israel situates America into a bias position.  Having Israel and America involved in negotiations together on one side and Palestine on the other side makes this “Peace Negotiations” unbalanced.  It would be in the best interests to seek out a second party evaluation from the Arab perspective so that the Palestinian’s and ALL ARABS may be properly represented during the peace negotiations that will follow.  America’s treaty with the Native American and their Sovereign Nation status within America is an ideal example of the type of relationship that needs to be sought after between Israel and the West Bank.  Knowing this, America needs to strongly consider involving the Native American into the Peace Negotiations so that both Israel and Palestine may feel equal support from America and to offer balance in this peace process.  America alone cannot be an unbiased mediator in this process, and that is what is truly needed.

Both the Palestinians and the Native Americans are Nations filled with people of great pride, passion, and history with their land.  Both have been driven into submission and have had much of their land taken from them.  Both have been subject to many broken agreements and have been subjected to a great deal of prejudice and injustices.  Their struggles parallel the Arabs so closely, and it is best to find a solution through peaceful alternatives and not war.  People listen to others who have undergone similar experiences because of mutual respect.  The Native Americans have great experience with diplomacy and negotiations within American Law, which could be most beneficial to the Palestinians in creating a successful peace agreement.

America could agree to send in a delegation of Native Americans to assess the needs of the Palestinian people and issues that need to be addressed in future negotiations regarding the Arabs in Israel and Palestine.  The Native Americans in conjunction with the Arab representatives can appoint the individuals of this delegation and determine their numbers needed.  The Native Americans should act as an independent nation and both Israel and Palestine need to agree to offer full protection to this delegation.  This delegation could then report back to the President and the American public its findings and facts.  This should be accomplished within 120 days of this agreement.

On the Reservations there is free access from one side to the other and with all the Arab community there, this will be best suited for the West Bank.  They are best suited to assist in this process after living it and blending the cultures to make a peaceful and prosperous Sovereign Nation today.  They will be able to assist with such things as water rights and the civil rights of the people.  If change can begin, then peace may begin.  This “Change” is best starting in America.  I believe after visiting, if the Arabs feel they are being represented from within the US, the animosity for the US will subside and peace may begin both there and here.

America tried to reform the Native American's without success and they have held onto their past traditions and encompassed society today integrating them together for a stronger unified nation.  America needs to see that unity, and accepting the diversity of others is the key.  America never reformed the Native American culture, and America will never reform the Arab culture.  America can answer itself one valuable question here, what would be the result of America removing land from the Native American Reservations by force today for its own settlements and its own personal gain the way Israel has expanding its settlements?  Wouldn't we find ourselves in the same situation as Israel if America did this to the Native Americans today?
