Any attempt to describe God will fall way short of whom God truly is. Can a pot ever define the potter? Can a painting define the artist? Can one ever explain that which is unexplainable? Can one ever understand that which cannot be understood?[1]
God is the essence of all things, unreachable, unknowable, unattainable, and unnamable. Some say they do know God, but how can anyone know Gods purpose for another, a nation, the World or the Heavens? The best one can do is to try to understand the best they can for Gods will for themselves today, at this moment. Anyone who says that they know, this person does not know, for it is the wise man who knows that they do not know that knows.
For those
who read this, my creator is whom I call God and I pray to God using the word
Father because it brings me to a feeling of closeness with God and Jesus with my
Christian upbringing as my understanding. Other names given to my God include
Yahweh, I Am, El, Jehovah, Krishna, and Allah to name just a few. With the
thousands of languages in the world today, each language has their own word
associated with the word, “God.” In French it is “Dieu,” German it is “Gott,”
Hebrew it is “Eloheem” and in Arabic it is “Allah.” There are countless names
given to the supreme God and Creator, yet no name can totally reflect whom God
truly is.
God is the essence, the source of energy within all creation, unmanifested and
absolute, infinite and unlimited. God is the only entity whose reason for
existence is within Himself. All creation is here to serve God alone. In this
way, God is perfect and the source for all love, truth, wisdom, and knowledge.
God's representation to mankind is that of a male form with our earthly
understanding, which establishes love through authority, law, and judgment. Yet
in Gods unmanifested form, God is neither man nor woman.
Anything in ones own heart that opposes the love of God, including the love for
someone you do not like or even hate, opposes God, for God Is Love, God is
Truth, and the Truth is to Love.
Any definition further than this would only move me closer to heresy.
