This church stands today in the place where Jesus was held, whipped and beaten before his trial. 

The olive trees are to be from the time of Jesus, over 2,000 years old, and some estimates claim they are as old as 4,000 years old.  It is here on the Mount of Olives where you will find the garden of Gethsemane.

Just north of this location you will find the "Tomb of Mary." 

Just to the North East of this church you will find a gold capped church, this is the "Russian Orthodox Church."

This donkey was making a lot of noise as the driver guided it past.  The owner said that his donkey only does this at this one place on the Mount of Olives, which is the road just behind the church.
