FORGIVENESS

Forgiveness is the greatest gift given to us, and the greatest gift we can offer another.   Forgiveness can never be given more than our own willingness to forgive, nor will it be any less.

When ever someone does wrong to us, especially someone who is important in our lives, pain sets in.  This internal pain manifests itself at different rates in people, some acting hostile immediately, while others sit and steam about it.  What begins to brew is animosity within our hearts for the other person, and it is here where Satan builds his cornerstone within ones heart.  Disguised with self righteousness, desiring vengeance, these feelings within us begin to destroy the very nature of our souls.

Forgiveness can only be granted proportionately to our own willingness to forgive.  When we learn to forgive others who have wronged us we become able to truly love.

Bible Matthew 6

14For if you forgive men when they sin against you, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. 15But if you do not forgive men their sins, your Father will not forgive your sins.

Koran "The Counsel" 42:40

but whoever forgives and amends, he shall have his reward from Allah; surely He does not love the unjust.

Forgiveness is never for the person we need to forgive, forgiveness is always for ones self and their relationship with God..

Forgiving ones self can be the hardest to obtain when we have truly hurt someone.  We become hard on ourselves and find this to be a stumbling block in our way to forgiveness.

Forgiveness does not mean we forget, it means we let go and do not allow it to affect our lives or another’s any longer.  We learn from these lessons and establish certain boundaries to prevent any further infraction from occurring again.
