The Golden Gate is the oldest of all the gates in the Old City.  This was built on top of another gate that would have been the gate that Jesus would have entered through for his trial.  This gate and the Kidron Valley is where Jesus would have crossed to enter the Mount of Olives and the Garden of Gethsemane.  This is also the Gate that Jesus is to enter through upon his return.  Ahmad lives about 100 yards south of the Mount of Olives.  This gate has been sealed shut since 1541.

These are the thorn bushes that grow wild in the Kidron Valley, these would have been the thorns that the Roman soldiers would have used to make Jesus his crown.
