America has been involved since the beginning with Israel and supplies Israel with her military strength. Having given this strength to Israel, and the friendship that exists between them, there is a level of responsibility that America needs to be accountable for regarding the current and on going conflict. Additionally, because America has given this strength to Israel, any excessive use of this force would make America equally responsible for the deaths, destruction, and outcome of the situation. America as a country must be upheld to the standards in which it holds its citizens to. America must be involved in the peace negotiations between Israel and Palestine for this reason.
There are two fighting rivals in Israel, that being Arab and Jew. Since neither separates religion from politics, two separate lines need to be drawn first clarifying that which both sides agree upon immediately for their own laws to be governed.
Suicide needs to be discouraged at all levels, and talks of glorifying Martyrs needs to end and replace it with dreams of a prosperous future. The children need to grow up with families that live in peace and harmony with one another, not hatred and war. It will be imperative for the America, Israel, the International Community and the Palestinian Government to enforce strict laws against any individuals or groups of individuals who seek out another to give their life for their own personal, political, or religious gain. Palestine needs to understand that what started out as being a Martyr has evolved itself into actually becoming a business and a way of life for some individuals. People are making money from such activities and marketing it as a form of, “Martyrism.” Although Martyrism is not a word, I will define what I mean by this word.
Martyrism:
The act of engaging in any form of marketing, commerce, or support of any kind which promotes any individual or group of individuals to give up their own life to carry out an act of terror for another individual or group of individuals supporting their own personal, financial, political, or religious gain.
Martyrist:
Any individual who actively participates and supports Martyrism.
It is this Martyrism that needs to be intensely enforced by Palestine and strict laws need to be both enacted and enforced in order for peace to have any chance. Palestine needs to acknowledge that there are many forces outside its control and borders that are using the oppression of the Palestinian people to fulfill their own vengeance against Israel, and regretfully this is at the expense of so many innocent Palestinians. I believe all people may be able to understand the actions of a Martyr like Samson, but not the individuals who actively support, market or finance this activity. The true difference is that Samson worked alone with God. Until oppression is relieved from the Palestinians, such actions may and probably will continue.
Palestine needs to make laws and strictly enforce the laws by seeking out those who videotape, construct or assist in any way the preparation of such an event. People need to get these individuals into the doctor, psychologist, or better yet, to a true Holy Man of God to find help and never seek out their own cause or belief by promoting the death of another.
In America we can define Terrorism this way and send notice to the world the definition of a terrorist state. This could be our warning to the Arab Nations in the Middle East and to the entire world by indicating that any nation who would actively support Martyrs and seek out oppressed people from a society such as Palestine would be classified as a “Terrorist State.” Defining this would send a clear message to the world about America’s posture regarding Terrorism and would hopefully prevent other countries from preying upon suppressed societies to fulfill their own desires for vengeance. Palestine will not be classified as a “Terrorist State” at this time because of the incursions and developments that are occurring and the oppression that the Arabs are under from Israel. This will exempt them from being classified as a “Terrorist State” until the oppression is lifted. This will also lay the groundwork placing Israel on warning for them to discontinue their settlements.
Secondly, and equally important is that the World Community will need to acknowledge the need for direct psychological help for all the Israeli and Palestinian people in the area and the need to develop support groups. In time it would be essential to bring both sides together to grieve and share in their losses with one another and to grow from it so that such a situation will never happen again.
Israel needs to understand that it cannot hold the leader of the Palestinians responsible for every violent action against individuals in Israel in the same way our President cannot be held responsible for the violent outbreak of a police officer or mail worker in America. But such trust can only be developed through time by destroying these “Martyr Business’s.” Yet Israel needs to understand that there are still true Martyrs who have endured oppression to what Samson may have felt and endured, and they are filled with pain and rage.
To even begin Israel will need to withdrawal all its troops out of Palestine occupied territory immediately and to minimally bring all Israeli troops back to their original positions before September 29, 2000. Israel will also need to take a serious look at the Arab proposal for peace in the land and use this as a starting point to work from.
Palestine would need to acknowledge and agree that there are groups who are outside of its control that will try to stop any form of a peace process. Also Israel needs to acknowledge that the same applies to the Jewish community as well. For this reason Palestine will need to work directly with the UN/Nato to enact new laws which define and enforce the “Martyrism” which has developed in their land. Palestine will need to work directly with the United States to re-establish their government and law enforcement agencies in order to weed out any remaining individuals who will attempt to disrupt this peace process.
And finally both sides will need to agree to a cease-fire that will stand in place and all parties agree to refrain from any further fighting or violence.
Any further terrorist acts by anyone within the confines of Israel, Jerusalem, or Palestine will be considered an act of war and the International Peace Force will take direct Military action against these forces. These forces will have complete authority in the area and full financial and military support from both America and/or UN and/or NATO.
Any further settlement activities by Israel will need to be seen as an aggressive action contrary to this peace process and strong and appropriate sanctions will need to be outlined and made against Israel if this results.
In America, and in our Courts, if you sell a weapon to someone with any knowledge of a possible crime, you will be found responsible in the eyes of the courts. In this very same way that the courts can find someone responsible here, America is to be held accountable and responsible to the laws it enforces upon its citizens. Accountability is necessary.
