US Policy and Immigration

To date I have not heard anyone speak up regarding a realistic viewpoint on immigration and Mexico.  So lets start speaking up about the truth and a realistic approach and resolutions to this problem.

First lets look at NAFTA.  This was a policy implemented by our Government and sold to the people by claiming it was to lift up the economy of Mexico.  The realistic and deceptive approach by our Government has now shown the true meaning behind this policy...for the rich to move their companies from America’s soil and to capitalize on the oppressed living environment of the poor in Mexico.  This lowered their costs and allowed them to import their products tax free while continuing to charge the American people the same amount.  This is the basic principle behind business, make or buy low and sell high in order to increase their profit margin.  What we know to be true now is that our Government sold its people out and allowed business’s to move their companies across the borders and exploit the Mexican people for their own gain

To turn the tide of immigration we need to help develop Mexico, not exploit her.  If the earnings in Mexico were adequate for the people, they would stop coming here for work.  These people are very family orientated and would rather stay there and work than to come here and work away from their families.

America could take a good look at how East and West Germany helped each other, not to unify our nations because of the pride found in both, but in the economic growth and some of the sacrifices the West endured in developing the East.

We need to revisit NAFTA as well as all “Free Trade Agreements” and set minimum standards for America and foreign business’s doing business in Mexico and other countries in order for them to remain “Tax Free.”  If they do not follow set standards, then appropriate import taxes need to be applied to their products.  At the same time Mexican owned business should be allowed to export products “Tax Free.” This is an important element of increasing Mexico’s way of life and boosting their economy.

If we were to employ Mexicans to patrol the border rather than the National Guard and offered them incentives, I wonder how many we could employ for the same amount and how much more efficient they would be when incentives are applied?

It is best to assist in boosting Mexico’s economy and stop allowing the rich to exploit her people if we truly want to stop our immigration problems.
